Regular attendance is necessary for the student's academic success. It also promotes a positive work ethic for employment skills and future success.

NPHS Student Absence Form: If your child is going to be absent for the majority of the school day or the complete school day, please complete the NPHS Student Absence Form prior to their absence. For absences that are 1-2 hours of the school day, please leave a message on the attendance line: 952-758-1205.

Tardies
The student day begins at 7:40 a.m. Students arriving after 7:40 must stop by the attendance window or the office to timestamp their arrival time.
Requesting Homework
- Students should check their Google classroom and email their teachers for any homework.
- Make-up work for all absences must be completed. Failure to complete make-up work will result in an incomplete or failure in the course. Please review the NPHS Attendance Policy for detailed information.

School policy states that if your son or daughter has been sent home from school due to fever, vomiting, diarrhea or due to an infection they are to remain out of school for 24 hours before returning . This policy is in affect for the safety and health of all students attending New Prague Schools. Please leave the following information when calling in your child’s absence. Your child’s name, grade, date and symptoms of your child’s illness or reason they are absent from school. Thank you.
Research tells us that valuable learning also takes place at the beginning and the end of the school day. It is necessary to refrain from interrupting class time.
- Attendance is taken at 9:10 a.m. each day. Students arriving after this time need to be signed in at the office by a parent/guardian. Late arrivals, without a note or call before 9:10 a.m., will be recorded as unexcused. We also ask that you respect our school hours and not take your child out early.
- The attendance voicemail number is 952-758-6005 (available 24 hours/day). For attendance recording, we need to receive absence information in the office. Teachers appreciate being notified also. Students will receive an unexcused absence if a call or note is not received in the office when students are absent.

- If your family is going to be on vacation, please send a note to the office prior to the trip so that the absence can be excused. Also inform the teacher in order to get homework ahead of time.
- Please leave the following information when calling in your child’s absence. The date, your child’s name, your child’s teacher, person calling, reason for absence, and all symptoms if illness.
