Meet The Coordinators
Katie serves as the Special Education Supervisor for New Prague Area Schools. Additionally, she provides coordinator support for New Prague Middle School and Raven Stream Elementary.
Katie earned her Bachelor's Degree in Special Education - Emotional Behavior Disorders from St. Cloud State University with an additional teaching license in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Hamline University. Katie has also earned a Master's Degree in Teaching and Learning from Capella University, as well as a Specialist Degree in Education Administration and Leadership from Minnesota State University Moorhead. This year Katie enters her 13th year with New Prague Area Schools and 20th overall in education.
Katie and her husband, Curtis live just west of New Prague with their two boys Gabe and Dom. They enjoy being active outdoors with their dogs, gardens, and various adventures. Katie and Curt keep busy attending the boys' sports and activities year round.
Amanda serves a dual role for New Prague Area Schools; she is the Special Education Coordinator at New Prague High School and Compass Learning Center in addition to being a Special Education teacher for students with Autism at our high school.
Amanda earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls and Master's Degree in Special Education from Winona State University. Amanda holds a license as an Academic Behavioral Strategist and is also an instructor of Crisis Prevention for NPAS Special Services. Amanda began teaching in 2017 and has been with New Prague Area Schools since 2021.
Amanda lives in Lonsdale with her husband, two daughters, and dog. They enjoy participating in outdoor activities, gathering with family, and trying new places to eat.
Angie serves a dual role for the New Prague Area Schools. She works as a Speech-Language Pathologist in our Early Childhood Special Education program. She also serves as the Special Education Coordinator for ECSE and St. Wenceslaus School.
Angie earned her Bachelor's Degree in Communication Disorders from St. Cloud State University and Master's Degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. In addition, she holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She began her employment at New Prague Area Schools in 2007 as a Speech Language Pathologist in the Early Childhood Special Education program and at St. Wenceslaus.
She lives south of New Prague with her husband, two children, and dog. She likes to walk, read, and garden when she is not at school.
Amy Mittelstadt is the Special Education Coordinator for Falcon Ridge and Eagle View Elementary Schools. She is also a part time Special Education teacher at Falcon Ridge Elementary, primarily servicing students with emotional/behavioral needs.
Amy has her undergraduate degree in elementary education with a minor in special education from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse, her master's degree in Emotional/Behavioral Disorders and Specific Learning Disabilities from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and an educational specialist degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato with multiple professional administrative licenses.
Amy lives in New Prague with her husband and two boys; Colton (4) and Tripp (2). She enjoys sushi, reading, cooking, and true crime podcasts!
