School Board Updates

The School Board held their annual Organizational Meeting on the evening of Monday, January 13. In addition to welcoming the newest member to their team, Carrie Cuff, this meeting also signified the beginning of another four year term for Denny Havlicek, Kim Holden and Jean Schmidt, who were all elected in early November. Denny Havlichek was selected by his peers as the School Board Chair for 2025. Other leadership assignments include: Kim Holden, Vice Chair; Dan Call, Clerk; and Karen Steinhoff, Treasurer.

Congratulations to Denny Havlicek for being recognized as an All State School Board Member from the Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA). Denny is one of seven school board  members from across the state who were recognized at MSBA’s annual conference in mid-January.

Finally, Mark Bartuzek has resigned from the School Board. Mark, who has served the NPAS since 2019 is no longer eligible to serve due to his family’s move outside the school district. “It has been a

privilege to contribute to the success of our school district. My time on the Board has been

fulfilling, challenging and enlightening. I have sincerely valued working alongside my fellow

Board members, educators, staff, and the community.”

The School Board will discuss how to best fill this vacancy at upcoming meetings, with the hopes to have it filled as soon as possible.
