It is our goal to keep students as healthy as possible. Your cooperation in following the guidelines below for determining when to keep your student home from school is greatly appreciated. Adherence to these guidelines will help us provide a healthy learning environment for all children.

  • Fever of 100 degrees or more: students should be kept home until they are fever free without fever-reducing medication for 24 hours.
  • Vomiting and/or diarrhea: students should be kept home for 24 hours after last episode.
  • Strep Throat: students should be kept home until they have been on an antibiotic for 12 hours.
  • Rash: student should be kept home until your doctor has determined whether the rash is contagious. If treatment is started, your student should be on the medication for 24 hours before returning to school.

A Medication Administration Form must be completed for medication to be administered at school. A physician and parent/guardian signature is required for prescription medication. A parent/guardian signature is required for over the counter medications. Medications need to be supplied in the original container.
