School Counselor Role

We strive to provide developmental, as well as pro-active, preventative and remedial services for students. This involves a cooperative effort among students, staff members, parents, and community.  Our purpose is to empower all learners to lead satisfying and productive lives by assisting them in identifying and achieving educational, career, personal and social goals.  We are here to help with academic issues, educational and career planning, as well as personal, emotional and behavioral concerns.

  • Is actively committed to helping students explore their abilities, strengths, interests and talents, as these traits relate to career awareness and development.
  • Help parents focus on ways to further the education, personal and social growth of students.
  • Work with teachers and other educators to help students explore their potential and set realistic goals for themselves.
  • Seek to identify and utilize community resources that can enhance and compliment comprehensive school counseling programs and help students become productive members of society.

School Social Worker Role

Chemical Health Specialist Role

Chemical health support and prevention services within our district address a wide range of issues students may face. Our goal is to educate students about making positive, chemically-free choices that help with their academic progress, social engagement, and emotional well-being.

We collaborate with students, families, schools, staff, and the community to promote chemical health through prevention, intervention, and support by:

  • Providing chemical health awareness and programming.
  • Working with school staff regarding student concerns.
  • Addressing an individual student's chemical use.
  • Partnering with parents to explore options (contracts, chemical evaluations, groups, treatment, or other interventions).
  • Following up on district students receiving chemical violations.
  • Collaborating with and making referrals to community resources for chemical health and related issues.
